Tarena Sisk, CNM, ARNP

Tarena Sisk is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). A CNM is a master’s prepared nurse who is focused on women’s health throughout their lifetime, including childbirth. Nurse midwives are able to perform physical exams, prescribe medications (including contraceptives), order laboratory test, provide prenatal care, gynecological care, labor and birth care, as well as health education and counseling to women of all ages (American College of Nurse Midwifery, 2011). As a CNM, Tarena will work collaboratively and in consultation with Dr. Miller by providing healthcare for women of Winfield.

Tarena was born and raised in Southeast Kansas. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Pittsburg State University in 2000. After ten years working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, Tarena completed her Master’s degree from one of the oldest and most well known schools of midwifery, Frontier Nursing University. This program allowed her community based training at both Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, TX and OU Children’s Hospital with OU Midwives in Oklahoma City, OK. She has also obtained national certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

Tarena has dedicated her career to caring for women and babies, and is looking forward to providing care for the women of Winfield.
